Rancho Charro Tropical Forest Ride Overview
You won’t find a more relaxing tour than riding a beautiful horse into the lush forest of the Sierra Madre foothills. You’ll be stunned by the splendid natural marvels of this coastal region of Mexico. Mount one of our well-trained steeds or mares to ride into antiquity, when horses and boats were the only form of transportation in the lush wilderness of this area. You will be pleasantly surprised by how swiftly you will leave the distracting trappings of modern civilization behind while you are riding only a few miles from Puerto Vallarta’s bustling hotel zone.
The excursion starts on Rancho Charro close to a quaint town where our knowledgeable cowboys will especially select a horse for each rider in order to maximize your riding enjoyment. Our experienced English-speaking guides pride themselves on providing a safe, enjoyable, and authentic ride into the lush environs of the Vallarta wilderness. Our naturalist guides are happy to communicate their passion and knowledge of the wildlife, the unique history, and intriguing culture of the Mexican countryside.
Once you become fully familiarized with your specially-selected horse, you will ride beside the banks of the splendid Pitillal River on your way to a remote waterfall. Cool down with a swim in the languid pool beneath the falls. After a swim, the party will meander up a mountain path to the perfect vantage point to enjoy the panoramic vista overlooking breathtaking or a fabulous view of the entire area, including the spectacular Banderas Bay. We’ll then descend partway down the hill to dine in a charming hillside cantina overlooking the region.
