The waters near Puerto Vallarta, where the Pacific Ocean meets the temperate and serene waters of Banderas Bay (Bahia de Banderas), are home to an astounding assortment of biological diversity. Our English-speaking marine biologist guides will convey you into the beautiful waters of Banderas Bay during dolphin watching season, from spring through the conclusion of the year, to view wild dolphins as they swim in their native environment. You may see an array of cetaceans on this eco-adventure, including spotted dolphins, Pacific bottlenose dolphins, false killer whales, spinner dolphins, and possibly even humpback or gray whales (during the wintertime). Bottlenose dolphins proliferate in Banderas Bay during the season that we offer this tour. We use specially-designed zodiac motorboats to maneuver near these marine mammals. You will be delighted as these athletic creatures surf the boat’s wake, swim alongside the bow, jump from the surface, and congregate in pods.

Participants on our marine mammal watching excursions can listen to dolphins and whales communicate with each other on our hydrophone. A hydrophone is a scientific instrument designed specifically to listen to underwater sounds. Dolphins not only utilize sound to communicate with one another, but also use noise to echo-locate prey while searching for fish. Feel free to ask our highly-educated marine biologists any questions about the indigenous wildlife and undersea environment. Children will find these tours both fun and educational. We limit our dolphin watching expeditions to prevent overcrowding and to optimize personalized service; each of these excursions is limited to twelve clients.
