Morro Scuba Adventure Overview

Our Morro Scuba Adventure is one of the most interesting and challenging scuba diving excursions offered from Puerto Vallarta. Advanced divers and intermediate divers (with at least fifty dives logged under their belt) will be thrilled to explore this underwater playground filled with towering pinnacles, caverns, and swim-throughs. If you are really feeling adventurous, you can navigate a tunnel one hundred feet below the surface.  Much of these remarkable formations were created by volcanic activity in prehistoric times. The pinnacles are actually ancient lava tubes, formed by molten rock that cooled and hardened by the cool water of the Pacific Ocean. There are also stunningly deep drop-offs at this location. This is an excellent dive location for adventurers seeking a challenge.

Because El Morro can be found outside of the protected confines of Bahia de Banderas, the currents are much more robust. But because this site is closer to the deepwater currents of the Pacific Ocean, divers are more likely to see large pelagic species that swarm the reef searching for feeder species. The water off Puerto Vallarta are home to an abundance of these deepwater fish including dorado (also known as mahi mahi), wahoo, blackfin tuna, and billfish like black marlin, sailfish, blue marlin, and striped marlin. You will also see many brilliantly-colored tropical fish inhabiting the reefs at this teeming locale.

Our professional PADI-licensed dive masters will be on hand to ensure diver’s safety. We will also provide breakfast, lunch, and soft drinks on this full-day diving expedition.
