Majahuitas & Yelapa Adventure Overview

Get away from the masses of tourists in Puerto Vallarta and cruise across Banderas Bay to two fabulous beaches. Both Majahuitas and Yelapa are idyllic serene havens on the coast where you can escape the usual congested tourist beaches. Both of these fantastic destinations have their own distinct charms.

Whether you are looking to enjoy exploring a remarkable underwater environment by snorkeling in the transparent waters in Majahuitas Cove, meander along the charming streets of the appealing town of Yelapa, or trek into the jungle on a winding path that leads to a secluded waterfall that cascades into a refreshing pool, you will have an enjoyable time on this day-long adventure. The best aspect of this excursion is that you do not need to pick and choose between these fun activities; you can experience all of them. Yelapa is a sleepy fishing hamlet on the shores of Bahia de Banderas that has no road access from Puerto Vallarta. The isolation of this place only adds to its old-fashioned allure. When you arrive in Yelapa, you can opt to wander through the streets to soak in its atmosphere, take a walk along a forest path to a picturesque waterfall, or enjoy a horseback ride into the wilds. This is an excellent place to enjoy snorkeling without being overwhelmed by scores of tourists. The waters in Majahuitas Cove have excellent visibility due to its geography which protects the cove from waves and weather that may stir up the sediment that would cloud the water. An astounding array brilliantly-hued fish inhabit the coral reef of Majahuitas. The many activities that you can enjoy at the second stop include bird-watching, swimming, sea-kayaking, and hiking.
